Union Lion

This lion is part of Columbus Fountain, outside Union Station in Washington, DC. Designed by Lorado Zadoc Taft and installed in 1912, it is one of only few public monuments in the District of Columbia that has been allowed to deteriorate. Two of the six colossal figures by Louis Saint-Gaudens on the Beaux Arts building itself are also in view.
