The Folger Shakespeare Library facade features bas-relief carvings by John Gregory of Julius Caesar, shown here, and eight other plays. The building, designed by Paul Philippe Cret, opened in 1932. The building's aluminum window grills are an example of the geometric Art Deco style then at its height.
