Darling of Darlington

This fountain with a nymph and her fawn is a gilded tribute to the character of Washington lawyer Joseph Darlington, whose friends and colleagues donated this work. He practiced near where his fountain stands today on the grounds of the DC Court of Appeals. This 1923 sculpture is an early work by artist C. Paul Jennewein who went on to create many other sculptures in the nation's capital.
