Pulaski's Forest

Casimir Pulaski was a Polish nobleman who died at age 31 in the cause of American liberty from the British. By all accounts a brave and brilliant officer, General Washington put him in charge of the first Cavalry division of the nascent state. In 2009, he became an honorary citizen of the United States. This statue, on a prominent stretch of Pennsylvania Ave called Freedom Plaza, was created by Kazimierz Chodziński and dedicated in 1910.
