General Artemas Ward is one of fourteen statues in Washington designated as American Revolution Statuary. In 1775, Ward resigned as governor of Massachusetts to lead Continental Army siege of British-held Boston. Created by Leonard Crunelle, the sculpture was dedicated in 1938.
