No Regret

Nathan Hale was hanged at age 21 by the British as a rebel spy early in the war for independence. His final words expressed regret that he only had one life to give to the cause. This is one of several copies of an 1914 original by artist Bela Lyon Pratt and stands outside the Department of Justice Building on Constitution Avenue. The original is at Hale's alma mater, Yale University.
