Marshall's Chair

Before becoming the Supreme Court's Chief Justice for 3 decades, John Marshall fought many battles in the war of independence, and served in the House of Representatives and as Secretary of State. Marshall once resided in the area where his sculpture now sits. This sculpture is a copy of a work created by William Wetmore Story. The original was created in 1883 and is located at the United States Supreme Court.
