Spirits of Seventy-Six

Orlando Letelier was the former ambassador from Chile under Salvador Allende and was living in the US as an exile and opponent to dictator Augusto Pinochet in 1976 when he and his assistant Ronni Moffitt were killed by a car bomb at this spot in Sheridan Circle. Ned Echeverria and Peter Kornbluh created this memorial in 1981.
