Acacia Griffin

One of two griffins guarding the entrance to the former Acacia Insurance building holds eggs between its paws to symbolize guardianship. The modeling shows both streamline and geometric aspects of the Art Deco style, at the height of popularity at the time this building was dedicated, in 1936. This is the male of the two griffins, although the pair appear identical. By Edmond Romulus Amateis.
