The Contemplation of Justice is one of two seated figures outside the Supreme Court building in Washington, DC. The noted sculptor James Earle Fraser said he created a heroic female form to express the beauty and intelligence of justice. She holds a figure of a blindfolded Justice in one hand and a book of laws in the other. The building dates to 1935.
