Robert Taft, long serving Senator son of President Taft, stands in bronze below a 100-foot carillon that chimes every quarter hour. The conservative senator was named one of the five greatest by his Senate colleagues in 1957. Taft was sculpted by Wheeler Williams and the memorial was dedicated in Senate Park in 1959.
