Marconi's Magic

This two part monument honors Guglielmo Marconi, whose pioneering inventions for wireless telegraphy made radio possible. Attilio Piccarilli created the gilded bronze sculptures under the architectual direction of Joseph Freedlander. Installed without fanfare in 1941 due to Marconi's support for Benito Mussolini, a opponent of the US during the second World War.
