Hahnemann's Habitat

One of the most elaborate monuments in Washington honors a man many Americans have never heard of. Samuel Hahnemann was the father of Homeopathy, a branch of the medical arts that uses minute amounts of like substances to treat disease. By sculptor Charles Henry Niehaus, this memorial has occupied a prominent location in Scott Circle since 1900.
