This fountain is a feature of the Inlet Bridge, which spans the Tidal Basin between East and West Potomac Park near the Jefferson and FDR monuments. The bridge was created by Nathan C. Wyeth in 1909 to regulate the flow of water in and out of the Tidal Basin.
