A large equestrian statue with an elaborate base stands in Logan Circle to honor the Civil War general who also served in both houses of Congress. He is inaccurately depicted being sworn in as Senator by Vice President Chester A. Arthur, whom Logan preceded in office. The sculpture by Franklin Simmons was dedicated in 1901.
