Bread Line
The FDR Memorial is a series of outdoor "rooms" dealing with aspects of each of his four terms as President. The work Breadline, by George Segal, is a depiction of one of the iconic images of poverty during the Great Depression, when as many as one quarter of all adult males could not find work. The FDR memorial was dedicated in 1997 and sprawls along the Tidal Basin in West Potomac Park.
