Joan's Arc

This Joan of Arc sculpture is a replica of an 1889 work by Paul Dubois in France outside the Rheims Cathedral. The Meridian Hill Park version in Washington DC was a gift from the women of France to the women of the United States, and was dedicated in 1922. It is the only equestrian statue with a woman rider among Washington statuary. The sword was stolen in 1978 and replaced in 2011.
